DRAW-A-THON PERFORMANCE & THEATER = Starting as an alternative to conventional figure drawing in 2005 The Drawathon Troupe a collective of art models, artists, musicians, performers and poets collaborate through improv, hand crafted props and live music components intended for the public to interpret through drawing, painting, writing and other creative processes.
The first event drew over 150 artists and was instantly a success. Emerging as a monthly event, and is now offered as a weekly. The Draw-A-Thon troupe expanded throughout New York. Thousands of All aged and different creative types have attended and formed a powerful artistic community/subculture.
We charge $15-24 and function with the ideals of a non-for profit. Our mission is to combine theater, performance art modeling, music, with live art making and address what people are creating today. Everyone who comes to the show, performers, Musicians and the audience is part of the process.
